A radio ad says "You can only call today for our special offer if your name begins with A-M, if your name begins with N-Z you may call tomorrow".

Why is that?

So you won't think about why it is you are calling
To cut the number of people calling their sales lines in half
They think people who listen to radio are stupid
Americans like rules, even if they make no sense
Radio sales people lack any ethics or morality
Because it works
To make people with A-M names feel important
It's a new Federal law - they're required to do it
Odd that there is never an ad for people with M-Z to call today
To get people whose names begin with N-Z to call today, thinking they are getting away with something
