Why do local "full service" radio stations run "Tradio" or "Swap shop" programs?

To put the local newspaper out of business
It's cheaper than playing music
It's the most popular show on the station
They want me to stream other content on the Internet. (And it works.)
The station is not in a market rated by Arbitron
To attract the 65+ demo
To reduce the quantity of junk going to the landfil
To give the secretary something to do
I've never heard one of those on a radio station
Nobody in our town has heard of eBay
It's a great public service
