Regarding the Naval Battle in Lake Erie during the war of 1812, how did the British get their warships from England into Lake Erie (past Niagara Falls?)

They were built on Lake Erie - they didn't come from England
They were American ships captured at Detroit
They sailed in through the Northwest Passage
Made in Canada
Niagara Falls is a man made dam to make power - the falls didn't exist in 1812
There was a canal around the falls they sailed through
They were disassembled and carried on a wooden railroad
Slaves carried them using ropes
They were lifted up the falls by a giant crane
They were dragged over land on rolling logs
Who the hell cares?
