Conversation: Freedom came from firing guns at the British until they gave up. The word "Freedom" does not appear in the Declaration of Independence. Liberty and Freedom are not the same concept. The Declaration mentions "a free people" and "free states" - not free individuals.

"The Creator" (not "God") gave us rights, it did not give us "freedom". Government derives its power from the consent of the governed, not from "God".		artstone
