Police reported several crashes on the westbound side of Spur 557 on Friday, including two 18 wheelers which rolled over, closed the spur to traffic. The driver of a pick-up truck, also involved in the accidents, was taken to Baylor Hospital in Dallas. His injuries were reported as minor. The Spur remained closed over 24 hours later. TxDOT reported the spur would be opened for single lane traffic in each direction, remaining single lane for the remainder of the week. <br /><br /> The Terrell Tigers won their homecoming game against the Forney Jackrabbits last Thursday evening, in a game played one day early due to expected bad weather on Friday. The tigers took the lead early in the game scoring the first touchdown. They led the jackrabbits throughout the game, winning by a final score of Terrell Tigers 24, Forney jackrabbits 22. The Tigers travel to Ennis this Friday to play the Ennis Lions in their third district game. KPYK will broadcast that game. Kickoff is at 7:30, the broadcast will start at 7:05 with the pre-game show. <br /><br /> A graveside service for John Curtis Chitty, who passed away September 16th at the age of 51, will be Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell.
